Insurance Commissioner releases clarification to Frequently Asked Questions regarding implementation of HB 437 Effective January 1, 2008.

In a Bulletin released December 18th, Insurance Commissioner Roger A. Sevigny provides clarification to questions surrounding the implementation of HB 437, Civil Union Law. Effective January 1, 2008, an individual who enters into a civil union is entitled to all the rights provided by the state law that apply to an individual that is married. Therefore, all in force insurance as of January 1, 2008 and all policies or contracts solicited, delivered, and issued after January 1, 2008 must comply with HB 437.
