February 4th is Wear Red Day

February 01, 2007

Heart Disease is no Longer Considered a Disease That Affects Only Men

Wear Red Day is focused on educating women of the risk of Heart Disease. The majority of women think that breast cancer is their most dangerous disease threat--when in fact, heart disease is responsible for more deaths than all forms of cancer combined. According to the American Heart Association, only a small percentage of women know that heart disease is a major threat to their health. This is a sad fact, when, in just the United States alone, almost a million women die from the disease annually.
