Thousands of ACA Enrollments Missing
Posted 12.16.13
Never made it to insurers
Glitches in healthcare.gov software may be responsible for a 10 percent failure rate during the first two weeks in October. The percentage of failures increased to 15 percent and then started declining in November and now officials are claiming a one percent error ratio. Other issues that plague the enrollment system is the wrong assignment of individuals to the Medicaid system or private plans in addition to some children not listed as covered dependents on their parent’s plans. January 1, 2014 could bring chaos as individuals that thought they had coverage start utilizing the healthcare system.
Still outstanding is the financial arrangement between the federal enrollment system and private insurers is still under construction. No definitive date has been released for completion of this phase of the marketplace. More on this and other healthcare reform related articles can be found in the December 16, 2013 NAHU Newswire.
