Exchanges to be running by October 1st

With the October 1st deadline approaching, the Obama administration has decided to hold off on public education awareness programs until it’s almost time to enroll. October 1 is the date uninsured people can apply for health insurance coverage and start applying for premium subsidies. The goal is to enroll 7 million individuals. It is uncertain if the federal exchanges will be operational by the deadline. Also reported in the June 24, 2013 NAHU Newswire is an article on a recent study of the Journal of the American Medical Association. The study reveals that new Medicaid patients will likely need prompt care for uncontrolled or undiagnosed conditions.
