Employee handbooks are important communication tools, but they are also dynamic, “living” documents – they evolve over time with changes in the law, best practices and an organization’s individual culture and strategic goals. In addition, employers with multi-state workforces have special challenges in maintaining compliant and comprehensive handbooks. Handbooks that have not been reviewed or changed in more than a couple of years are due for some Spring cleaning. Attorney Andrea Chatfield of Sheehan Phinney will provide an overview of the current handbook best practices, as well as discussion of recent changes in the law and key policies to add or change.
