Some carriers agree to extend first payment due date
In response to the confusion surrounding the ACA, WellPoint Inc. and Health Care Service Corporation are extending the premium payment deadline for plans purchased in the Marketplace. WellPoint has extended the first payment date for January policies to January 15th and Health Care Service Corporation has extended their deadline to January 30th. Aetna kept their first payment deadline at January 10th.
The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the challenge to the ACA’s contraception mandate based on religious grounds. The hearing is set for March 25. More on these stories can be found in the January 9, 2014 NAHU Newswire.
