HHS Claims Over One Million Signed Up for Coverage in January
Posted 02.13.14
This brings the total number of enrollees to 3.3 million
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that over 1 million people signed up for health insurance coverage in January through the marketplace. The total number of enrollees to date is around 3.3 million. Enrollment is still falling short of projections, especially in the 18-34 year age bracket. Enrollment by this group is around 27 percent and projections that the number should be around 40 percent to make the economics work. It is uncertain if the 7 million target by the end of March is attainable.
