Glitches in Healthcare.gov Still Problematic

Posted 02.04.14

Errors cannot be fixed electronically

The February 4, 2014 NAHU Newswire lead story draws attention to another glitch in the federal marketplace. Enrollees that have errors in their enrollment cannot correct them electronically. Over 20,000 enrollees are affected and a manual process has been implemented to address the issues. Problems can range from incorrect policies to incorrect premiums. No word has been released on when this latest glitch will be corrected.

Also reported in the NAHU Newswire is an article regarding medical identity theft. One third of the two million victims were responsible for the estimated $18,660 out of pocket costs. Consumers should protect health information as carefully as credit information.
