President Extends Marketplace Enrollment Period

Enrollees now have until December 23 to enroll for coverage effective 1/1/2014
The Obama Administration announced an eight day extension for individuals to enroll into plans offered through the Marketplace with an effective date of January 1, 2014. Additionally, the enrollment period for policies that will take effect January 1, 2015, has been extended to November 15 instead of the original October 15 deadline. This means that enrollment for 2015 will not close until after the 2014 mid-term elections.
Friday, Vermont exchange officials have confirmed that one of the users was sent a copy of their own application with a handwritten note across it “VERMONT HEALTH CONNECT IS NOT A SECURE WEBSITE!” Authorities have not determined the cause of the breach.
